Misery

Misery is a gripping psychological thriller based on the best selling novel by Stephen King. It has been described as “highly entertaining and very funny despite the macabre atmosphere." Starring: Amy Biedel (Mamma Mia and The Midnight Club) as Annie, Steve Cassling (Nightmare on Elm Street and The Bold and the Beautiful) as Paul, and Sean Scofield as Buster. Directed by Beth Wheat.
Story Smash: The Storytelling Game Show
July 20 at 7:30 PM taking place at Sessions Retreat and Hotel located at 41421 Big Bear Blvd.
This show is improvisational story telling at its finest. Four contestants will “spin the wheel”. Based on where the wheel lands, they'll tell 1 - 2 minute true stories while expert judges comment and hilarity ensues. Celebrity judges include Christine Blackburn (Story Worthy, Story Smash) , Danny Zuker (Producer, Modern Family) and Blaine Capatch (MAD TV)
Treasure Island - The Panto
July 20 and 21 at 4 PM taking place at Veterans Park located at 40870 Big Bear Blvd.
Comedy and improvisational talent Katt Balsan (The Groundlings, John Henry, Hack My Life) and Spencer Cassling (The One Act Play That Goes Wrong, Mr. Burns, A Post Electric Play) lead an improvised adaptation of Treasure Island, including audience participation guaranteeing a unique and unforgettable rendition delivered each show. As our gift to the community and our visitors, all performances are presented free of charge.
Little Shop of Horrors
August 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and 31 at 7:30 PM with matinees August 25 and September 1 at 2 PM.
This award-winning musical and smash hit revolves around a nerdy florist who finds his chance for romance with the lovely Audrey through the assistance of a giant, man-eating plant. The powerhouse cast stars Devon Michaels (Gilmore Girls, House, NCIS: Los Angeles) as Seymore, and Rena Strober (Veep, Liv and Maddie, Shameless) also praised for her Broadway performances, plays the loveably tragic heroine, Audrey. Local favorites Steve Cassling and Steve Gaghagen are also featured. Directed by Beth Wheat, Musical Direction by Mike Walker, Choreography by Jennie Gray Connard.
Tesla - A Radio Play for the Stage
October 10, 11, and 12 at 7:30 PM with a matinee October 13 at 2 PM
Tesla tells the story of Nikola Tesla's life as a brilliant but controversial inventor in the late 19th and early 20th century. Staged as a radio drama featuring live sound effects, this tale recounts an extraordinary life and the implications of Tesla's work on national security.
A Ghost Story of Christmas
December 19, 20, and 21 at 7:30 PM with a matinee December 22 at 2 PM.
The Big Bear Theatre Project revives its original adaptation of A Christmas Carol with a spectacular one man performance featuring special effects to enhance the timeless tale.
All performances take place at Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center unless otherwise noted. The performing arts center is located at 39707 Big Bear Blvd.
