Evacuation Warnings Update

The Evacuation Warning for the Baldwin Lake and Lake Williams areas - BBC01, BBC02 and BBC03 sections - have been lifted.

Evacuation Warnings remain in place for the remainder of the Big Bear Valley - sections BBC04, BBC05, BBC06, BBC07, BBC08, BBC09, BBC10, BBC11, BBC12, and FAW01.

Communication from City of Big Bear Lake

Sept. 10

"Due to the “Line Fire”, Evacuation Orders have been issued in the City of Big Bear Lake from the Big Bear Dam to Wildrose Lane and the south shoreline south to Bluff Lake Basin. City Manager Erik Sund has issued a Proclamation of Local Emergency. I want to express my support of the City Manager’s proactive decision to issue this Proclamation which will make additional resources available to help protect the residents of Big Bear Lake in addition to our beloved community at this critical time.” - Mayor Perri MelnickClick here to read the notification and the Proclamation of Local Emergency.

The City of Big Bear Lake values the safety of its residents and visitors, and is continually monitoring the Line Fire and will be providing updates as they become available.Travel Update for Big Bear Residents & Visitors:Out of abundance of caution and safety, the City of Big Bear Lake asks that you avoid the area if you do not need to be here. For those who are able to leave, we kindly encourage you to do so. This can help ease traffic and make the journey a little smoother for everyone. Thank you for your understanding!If you're planning to leave the mountain from Big Bear, use SR-18 towards Lucerne Valley. Be prepared if an evacuation order is issued."
