2024 Big Bear Lake Maifest
May 18 & May 25-26 - Big Bear's Favorite Spring Time Event Returns
As we bid farewell to Old-Man Winter, the stage is set for Big Bear's favorite springtime celebration. The Maifest, pronounced as My Fest, has gained immense popularity and is now known as Oktoberfest's little sister. The event offers the same joyous and jubilant atmosphere as Oktoberfest but with a unique springtime vibe. The 7th Annual Big Bear Lake Maifest commences on Saturday, May 18, with a special tribute to America's Heroes, including the U.S. Military, law enforcement, and firefighters. The festivities continue the following weekend on Saturday, May 25th and Sunday, May 26th (Memorial Day Weekend).
NEW THIS YEAR - STEINHOLDING FINALISTS TO WIN TRIP TO BIG APPLE
Big Bear Lake Maifest will send its top men’s and women’s steinholding qualifiers to the United States Steinholding Championships in New York City. The top qualifiers at Big Bear Lake Maifest will win a paid trip to New York, including round-trip airfare and lodging accommodations (valued at $2,000 per qualifier). Winners of the U.S. Finals will win an all-expense trip to Germany. Sign up at Big Bear Lake Maifest on May 18, 25 and 26 to win this extraordinary prize.
FREE Shuttle Service to Maifest & Back
Maifest makes it easy to get to the event and back safely. This year, the Free Big Bear Trolley gives complimentary rides to the Big Bear Lake Convention Center (home to Maifest), as one of the Free Trolley’s regular stops. With limited parking capacity, Big Bear Lake Maifest organizers encourage guests to hop on The Free Big Bear Trolley to catch a free ride to the event. Maifest guests are encouraged to visit MountainTransit.org to view the different routes and schedules to determine which bus stop best services them for a free ride.
Beer & Food
NEW THIS YEAR - Maifest will pour TWO varieties Maibock beer and FOUR German beers!
If you're not a beer person, worry not! You can try the refreshing Maibowl instead. This delightful beverage is a sparkling wine punch that features the Waldmeister herb, a splash of brandy, and fresh strawberries. It's a light and refreshing option!
If all the mountain exploration has left you feeling hungry, you're in luck! Maifest offers a delectable range of German favorites and American Fair Foods. From freshly grilled Brats and different types of sausages to sauerkraut, potato dumplings, and strudel, there's something for everyone.
