Care For Big Bear Events

Join Care For Big Bear around the valley for events that foster a love of nature and connect our locals and visitors. We're proud to support numerous events as well as hosting our own throughout the year. Mark your calendars for these upcoming events!

Climate & Cocktails

Clean the climate, then claim your Cocktail! Join Care for Big Bear monthly on the trails, along the shoreline, in our parks, and in our neighborhoods to collect trash and clean our environment. Then kick back at a local eatery and enjoy a cocktail, mocktail or other beverage on us while you mingle with your fellow climate heroes.

1 PM - 3 PM Clean-Up; 3:30 PM - 5 PM Happy Hour

Wings Over Big Bear

Join Care for Big Bear, the Friends of the Big Bear Valley, Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, the Southern California Mountains Foundation, Big Bear Mountain Resort, the City of Big Bear Lake, the Big Bear Arts Council, the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, and numerous supporting entities plus County and State representatives in commemorating Jackie - our beloved bald eagle and icon of Big Bear with ecotourism activities around town on October 4.

One Sky Week

November 2 - 8, 2026

In alignment with DarkSky Intl's Under One Sky Conference, Care for Big Bear hosts a week of education around astronomy and night sky conservation and its impacts in the Big Bear community. Follow our social media for good reads and videos on engaging astronomy and conservation. Plus, join us for in-person activities like night hikes and telescope stargazing.

SkyFest Big Bear

Big Bear's night sky is not only beautiful to behold, but an important part of a healthy environment. Conserving our night sky protects our wildlife, our forest ecosystem and our own human health. Join us for our annual dark sky festival that invites you along night hikes, offers telescope stargazing, and brings leading astrophysicists to the forefront to discuss the latest in cosmology, NASA endeavors and local solar science. Welcome to SkyFest!

Climate & Cocktails RSVP

Please complete the following RSVP form per group/family attending the Climate & Cocktails event for...

Sunday, Sept 27, 2026

Clean-Up: 1 PM - 3 PM. Location: Arctic Circle - map location; Cocktail Hour: 3:30 PM at Barrel 33

Note: For this event, please no children or anyone under 18 years of age. We will be partnering with Jazzy Bear Ride Service on this clean-up to support their Adopt-A-Highway sponsorship.

  • Meet at 12:45 PM at the above Map Location. This turnout is just to the north of the Big Bear Dam.
  • We will do a safety briefing and disperse safety gear and supplies.
  • We will be sticking to the turnout areas along the Arctic Circle. Groups will be dispersed.
  • Clean-up will take place from 1 PM - 3 PM

Care for Big Bear will cover the cost for one (1) beverage per Volunteer who:

  1. Joins the Climate & Cocktails clean-up segment from 1 PM - 3 PM.
  2. Signs a Liability Waiver upon arrival.
  3. All minor Volunteers must be accompanied by an adult.
  4. A valid ID proving 21+ age must be presented to the host restaurant for any alcoholic beverages ordered.
  5. Photography and video will be present.

Care for Big Bear will cover first drink costs from 3:30 PM - 5 PM at the host restaurant.
