Here you'll find tasty, healthy bites and entrees made from scratch using organic ingredients. All meat dishes are hormone & antibiotic free, with beef being sourced from Perennial Pastures in San Diego, and other meat options coming from local CA farms.
What you won't find, are plastic wares, processed and pre-made food items, or much food waste, if at all.
Stella Luna is an organic, scratch kitchen. We make everything in house, by hand. We do not use any seed or nut oils in our dressings. We use only sunflower oil in our fryer. We are a gluten-free friendly facility, with separate fryers to avoid cross contamination. We have several vegan and vegetarian options for everyone to enjoy. Stella Luna
Each week, Stella composts approximately 250 lbs. of food waste from unused or uneaten vegetables, fruits, eggs, and other unprocessed foods. Most of the compost remains in valley through private distribution.
Even the plate and wares your meal is served with is a conscious decision to reduce and reuse.
Co-Owner Alicia Kettler explains, "We use only up-cycled silverware and plates purchased from antique stores or restaurants going out of business. Kids cups and plates are biodegradable bamboo from Zungleboo, an eco-conscious company committed to reducing their carbon footprint. Finally, most cookware and machinery is purchased from restaurants going out of business, instead of buying new items."
Need a to-go box? Stella uses only compostable to-go products including cutlery.
So, the next time you're feeling hungry, stop into Stella Luna for a good meal you can also feel good about!
