WELCOME!

On behalf of the citizens of Big Bear Lake and the rest of the Council, I welcome you to our community. The City of Big Bear Lake is a four-season resort located in the heart of the San Bernardino National Forest. Serving a population of approximately 6,500 residents, the City covers a 6.95 square mile area on the west end of Big Bear Lake's south shore. Recreation is offered year-round, including skiing, boating, fishing, camping, hiking, golf and fine dining.

Big Bear Lake is a great place to live, work and play! Both full-time residents and second-homeowners have found our unique mountain setting enticing. Our lodges, hotels, restaurants and shops are outstanding. In addition, we host a Performing Arts Center that grows more successful each year, attracting both local and big name talent.

The Council and City staff continually strive to meet our vision of being 'a responsible, proactive and open government dedicated to public service with integrity, fairness, caring, competence, innovation, responsiveness and pride.'
